Welcome to the home of the International Shotokan Karate Federation Philippines Inc. We are the Philippine affiliate of the International Shotokan Karate Federation based in the USA.

ABOUT ISKF

The International Shotokan Karate Federation is comprised of over twenty eight Pan-American countries and has over 50,000 members. Our goal is the promulgation of true Japanese karate-do as espoused by the founder of modern karate Gichin Funakoshi. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to upholding the principles of Master Funakoshi's Dojo Kun:

  • seek perfection of character
  • be faithful
  • endeavor
  • respect others
  • refrain from violent behavior

About ISKF Philippines Inc.

ISKF Philippines Inc. was formed when the delegation from Karate Development Arts and Sports (KDA) went to the ISKF Nationals in 2007 held in Burlingame, San Francisco. The intention was to formally apply to the organization. They were recognized by ISKF Chief instructor, Sensei Teruyuki Okazaki and Regional Director Sensei Cathy Cline and tasked to promulgate the ideals and mission of the Federation to the Philippines and to the region.

ISKF-Phil. Mission

ISKF Philippines Inc.'s mission is as follows:

  • to continue the work of Master Funakoshi and promote shotokan karate to the country and the region
  • to uphold and promote the principles of Master Funakoshi's Dojo Kun to the students of member clubs.
  • to bring more shotokan karate clubs into the Federation and provide lineage through Sensei Okazaki and the other masters.
  • to act as a conduit of information and techniques from ISKF headquarters to affiliate clubs in the country.
  • to serve affiliate clubs by providing administrative and special services with regard to ISKF.

ISKF Philippines Chairman David Lay is heading out to join the Master Camp in Philadelphia this June.

He will be attending the master camp to advance in his instructor training course and report to meeting of regional heads on the status of ISKF Philippines.

This trip is in a large part possible because of the assistance of Unilever Philippines who partially sponsored the plane fare.

Deadline for submission of ISKF club and individual membership forms and payments is on the 15th of May.
